Yamasaki earned his BJJ black belt in San Paulo, Brazil from Marcelo Behring , now deceased, who in turn was a 5th degree under Rickson Gracie. Today Fernando holds a 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 2nd degree black belt in Judo, and a 6th degree black belt in JJIF Jiu-Jitsu.
